Functional Associate II - Reports/Check Printing – Wayne, PA

Our client is a premier provider of targeted specialized insurance products in North America and selected other markets.  They are looking for a contract Functional Associate II - Reports/Check Printing to work in Wayne, PA.  Estimated length of assignment is 3 months with the potential of being extended.


This job is responsible for making sure all aspects related to customer reimbursements and customer inquiries are addressed and processed timely in order to maintain high customer service levels.


  • Review customer claim details through multiple source systems in order to accurately process reimbursement requests timely. This includes addressing any issue that needs resolution in order to complete the request. (ex: missing information, training issues, etc.) Making sure upon approval, entries and adjustments are completed accurately and are in balance with the allowable refund amount. (60%)
  • Conducts a self-review of work processed before submitting batches for processing (10%)
  • Prepares expedited shipping through FedEx on priority mailings, making sure to log tracking information in the claim (5%)
  • Submits customer stop payment requests and updates the claim notes with status updates until resolution (5%)
  • Answer Claims Payable call queue and address customer inquiries (5%)
  • Respond to internal emails (5%)
  • Responsible for preparing checks for mailing (5%)
  • Performs filing, scanning and copying (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • 2 years of college with some accounting background
  • 2-3 years of Claims Payable experience
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel)
  • 2-3 years general experience in an office setting
  • Available to work overtime weekly and/or Saturday hours if workload demands is preferable
  • Customer service and/or clerical experience in an insurance, mortgage or banking services environment is preferable

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to make good decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Proof-reading or editing documents or letters
  • Composing business letters
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including effective oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of company personnel as well as external personnel
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Must have excellent English communication skills
  • Demonstrated use of database user interface and query software- data entry software
  • Microsoft Excel: More than a basic understanding with the ability to navigate, create, or formulate
  • Oracle system: Basic understanding of how to navigate
  • Microsoft Word: Basic documents and report
  • Ability to multi-task and organize

Working Environment:

  • Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, exposure to changes in temperature, being near moving machinery and office machinery
  • Occasionally required to lift/carry and/or move up to 20 pounds
