Our client is a global multi-billion dollar Consumer Packaged Goods company, based in Westchester County, New York.  They are seeking contract Demand Planning Analyst to work in their White Plains, NY headquarters.  Estimated length of assignment is 3 months but may be extended. Position will start remotely.

Job Description:

The Demand Planning Analyst creates and maintains forecasts for their customers/channels, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, replenishment data, and other sources (i.e. IRI or other syndicated consumer data). Basic forecast modeling is the responsibility of this position with a focus on simplification and automation of existing processes.  Extensive work in Excel and other data solutions is required in order to build KPIs, reports, and dashboards that enable an efficient and accurate demand planning process.


  • Develop forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation as part of a demand planning function, deep dive forecasting at customer level utilizing internal and external data sources
  • Review historical trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
  • Create automated reporting tools and dashboards that enable an efficient and accurate planning process
  • Identify ways to simplify the flow of multiple data sources into common harmonized views for key internal stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate volume communication with Export and Domestic operations teams
  • Develop, track, and report forecast accuracy and bias KPIs at various levels and time horizons
  • Obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Provide input to the supply chain team in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
  • Support projects to improve the efficiency of the Demand Planning process
  • Support the creation of operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with sales, supply chain and finance personnel
  • Refine systems and methods to continually improve forecasts so that the company can better anticipate customer needs
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports and KPIs pertaining to the demand planning process


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior experience in supply chain and data analytics
  • Advanced skills in Excel required - data aggregation, modeling, visualization across multiple data sources
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Experience in demand planning process simplification and automation
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills; comfortable working with large amounts of data
