Transportation Manager – Broomfield, CO

Our client is a global multi-billion-dollar Consumer Packaged Goods company, based in Broomfield, CO.  They are seeking two (2) contract Transportation Managers to work in their Broomfield, CO office.  Estimated length of this assignment is 3 months.

Position Description:

The Transportation Management Temp is accountable to help manage Transportation, scheduling delivery appointments, update ship dates and delivery dates on orders, and input Quality Customer and Consumer Complaints into ETQ, for Costco and Walmart.

Responsibilities:

COSTCO: Transportation Management

  • Schedule delivery appointments in Costco Portal – input to TMS (BluJay) – No longer needed after TMC is implemented
  • BluJay comments – communicating with the carriers on load status through BluJay
  • Updating dates in SAP when an appointment is rescheduled
  • Rescheduling appts or late deliveries – send communication summary to CLS and Customer Collaborations - No longer needed after TMC is implemented

o   Updates on every late order

o   Include late PO#, product on the order, Original Delivery Date, reason for late delivery or pick up and new delivery appointment

  • Input Scheduled Pick-up Date/Time into Costco Portal
  • Monitor high priority loads (i.e. promotional) for Costco and:
  • Inform CLS and Customer Collaborations immediately if there is a problem (i.e. delay)
  • Provide a daily summary to the CLS and Customer Collaborations on high priority loads

COSTCO: Customer Order Management

  • Update ship dates and delivery dates on orders based on BluJay information and Costco Portal

COSTCO: Quality Customer and Consumer Complaints

  • Inputting Quality Customer and Consumer Complaints into ETQ (Quality Portal System)

WALMART: Customer Order and Transportation Management

  • Releasing orders in SAP
  • Assisting carriers in rescheduling delivery appointments through Retail Link (Walmart Portal)
  • BluJay comments – communicating with the carriers on load status through BluJay
  • Updating dates in SAP when an appointment is rescheduled

WALMART: Quality Customer and Consumer Complaints

  • Enter VCOEs (Quality Customer and Consumer Complaints) into ETQ portal (Quality Portal System)

Education and Experience:

  • SAP experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (3 years relevant experience and/or 1 year of internal experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • At least 2 years of progressive Customer Service, Logistics or Supply Chain experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work well in a self-managed team environment
  • Demonstrated experience in Order Fulfillment & Management, Transportation
  • Demonstrated experience or relevant knowledge in the following areas: Customer Service, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Capacity to comfortably interact CLS and Customer Collaborations to deliver quality information on a timely manner in a fast-paced environment
  • Judgment to resolve Transportation issues with the appropriate sense of urgency
  • Ability to maintain productivity and professionalism while under pressure to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple priorities. Display attention to detail for both accuracy and content.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with the Transportation team to analyze and help resolve issues and align CLSs and CC by clear and concise communication, and on a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills required - emphasis on ability to use Excel formulas, functions and pivot tables.
