Talent Acquisition Screener

Albany, Oregon, United States | Contract | Fully remote


Our client is a premier provider of targeted specialized insurance products in North America and selected other markets.  They are looking for a contract Talent Acquisition Screener to work for their Albany, OR location.  Estimated length of this assignment is approximately 4-6 months but may extend longer based on business needs.  This is a 100% remote position but would prefer either PST or CST candidates.  It will support mostly PST schedule but may also support CST on occasion, so there must be some flexibility for both; 40 hour work week.


Job Description:
The Talent Acquisition Screener is responsible for sourcing and pre-screening candidates. Creatively and proactively uses sourcing techniques to create a pipeline of candidates for high volume/time sensitive positions. The Talent Acquisition Screener will apply specific business and labor market knowledge to help the organization and candidates reach optimal hiring decisions.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess the following competencies: knowledge of the candidate recruitment and assessment/selection process, sourcing, building credibility and trust, data tracking, attracting talent, business acumen, and collaborating with others.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Work with Recruiter to forecast and determine open positions, understand position requirements, and candidate success profiles
  • Source and recruit applicants by using methods including but not limited to, print and electronic, advertising, social media, career fairs, networking, cold calling, college and university programs, community agencies, workforce centers, professional associations, and employee referral programs to build talent pipelines for current and future needs
  • Manage resume flow and candidate communications to set and maintain clear expectations related to next steps within recruiting process and disposition
  • Complete and distribute weekly reports on position vacancies, class fills, sourcing activities and applicant flow
  • Work cooperatively with all members of the Talent Acquisition team to develop and implement plans and activities
  • Maintain accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, searches, hiring managers’ interactions, and other recruiting activities and accurate utilization of ATS according to standards
  • Articulate in writing a plan with deliverables, timelines and a formal tracking process
  • Recommend ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-range growth of the company, implementing any new processes, fine tuning standard processes, and staying informed of trends and innovation recruiting techniques
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have 2 years minimum of Talent Acquisition Screener experience/tenure
  • 1+ years of full cycle high volume recruitment experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a class-based recruiting environment
  • 1+ years of Applicant Tracking System experience
  • 1+ years of experience conducting competency/behavioral based interviews
  • 1+ years of interacting with Hiring Managers throughout the recruitment process
  • 1+ years of developing and executing sourcing strategies
