Our client is a premier provider of targeted specialized insurance products in North America and selected other markets.  They are looking for a contract Business Processor to work in The Woodlands, TX location. Estimated length of this assignment is approximately 2 months. This is a work from home position but you must be local to the site.

 

Job details:

Under general supervision, work involves entering/checking/matching/researching data and verifying accuracy in order to process, record, balance, and/or reconcile transactions, and data in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and internal procedures and practices. It requires a basic knowledge of accounting concepts and practices, the capacity to perform a variety of moderately technical and complex clerical level work, and interaction with other team members in the department. Processing and researching requires a degree of independent judgment/action in problem-solving activities.

 

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Enters data in on-line to process transactions in a timely, comprehensive and error-free manner; updates data by executing appropriate corrections, additions and deletions; balances and/or reconciles transactions, and data entry in accordance with underwriting guidelines
  • Receives continuous on-the-job training to identify tools, resources and other sources of information that will be relevant to the processing of documents
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, other departments, and agencies by providing prompt and appropriate responses to inquiries/issues/concerns; follows through with respect to commitments and corrections; provides confirmation of actions taken; refers matters outside personal scope of authority to appropriate individual
  • Works independently in a multi-tasking environment in a fast paced full time position that requires regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
  • Responsible for adherence to all Company policies, procedures, processes and guidelines to ensure compliance
  • Responsible for assisting with the achievement of established departmental goals and objectives
  • Responsible for gaining proficiency in processing contracts (full proficiency is considered entering at least 20 contracts per hour with less than 1% errors consistently), administrative tasks for the business processing department, manual batching and cash transactions, and answering customer phone calls

 

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma Required, Associates degree in related field a plus
  • Typically has 0-2 years industry and/or related experience
  • Ability to interact professionally with employees at multiple levels of the organization utilizing written and verbal communication skills is essential
  • Demonstrated decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications including word processing, spreadsheet and database software and be able to learn AFWC specialty software systems and procedures
  • Must have ability to work independently in a multi-tasking customer service setting
  • Must type 11,000 kph with accuracy
  • Must be able to perform accounting and mathematic computations with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively, patiently and courteously
  • Handle multiple activities or interruptions at once and to work positively and effectively within a team or self-directed model
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, and sometimes irate, individuals and to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency

 

Work Environment:

  • Most of the work is performed in a fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions and with the need to deal with a great diversity of people
  • Ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal for extended periods of time
  • Must have finger, hand, and wrist dexterity for keyboard and 10 key data entry
  • Must be available to work some overtime including Saturdays
