Functional Associate II – Claims Payable – Wayne, PA

Our client is a premier provider of targeted specialized insurance products in North America and selected other markets.  They are looking for a Functional Associate - Claims Payable person to work in their Wayne, PA office.  This is approximately a 6 month contract assignment with the potential to extend or possibly go permanent.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Review customer claim details and process reimbursements accordingly
  • Accurately match invoices and credits with claim authorizations
  • Research accounts payable invoice discrepancies and ensures appropriate action is taken
  • Make invoice/credit adjustments as needed
  • Process invoices/credits in a timely manner to ensure payment deadlines
  • Ensures that payments are correctly applied, have appropriate backup and are in balance
  • Maintain and file all invoices and other applicable supporting documentation
  • Reconcile vendor statements/reports
  • Process and send check remits to the vendor
  • Answer vendor inquiries
  • Respond to customer inquiries
  • Respond to internal emails
  • Answer Claims Payable line to assist reps and customers inquiries
  • Address training issues for claim reps as needed
  • Perform filing, scanning and copying
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, problem solving and follow through
  • Proficient use of MS Office products, especially Excel; Oracle experience a plus
  • Ability to multi-task, results driven, team player, can work under tight deadlines and ability to communicate with all levels of financial and operational personnel
  • Critical thinking and good judgment required


  • 2 years of accounts payable experience
  • Experience reconciling invoices, reimbursing customers and invoicing
  • Strong organizations skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment and adjust to change
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel, Oracle experience a plus
